Far too often dealers repossess vehicles and do not follow the law. There are powerfull remedies available for consumers that have had their vehicles repossessed in an improper mannor. The consumer should receive a "Notice of Sale" and "Calculation of Deficiency Balance" along with the vehicle being sold for a price that is the normal going rate, NOT a sale price that is much less than what the car is worth.
If you have had a repossession and were never sent any notices or your car was sold for much less than it was worth you may qualify for monetary damages, have the repossession removed from your credit, and no longer owing any balance. If you were subsiquently denied a car loan or paying higher interest due to the improper repossession you may also be entitled to additional monetary damages.
The "minimum" statatory damages you are entitled to is the "finance charge" plus "10% of the sale price of the vehicle". This can easily be 5-$10,000+! Schedule a free consultation to see if you qualify!
If the proper notices are not sent and/or the vehicle is not sold in a "commercially reasonable" mannor there can be very large monetary damages owed to the consumer.
It is not uncommon for a conusmer to be owed over $10,000 in damages simeply because a dealer did not sent a notice or sold their car for too little.
Since there is no judicial oversight and there is no independent party overseeing the reposession of vehicles if a dealer is found to be breaking these rules they must pay very large damages to the consumer.
In many cases, this is the only deterent and recourse a consumer has.

"I was in the middle of a serious situation. My car was repossessed and sold for a fraction of what it was worth. I thought my financial future was over.
My credit was ruined and I couldnt get another car loan and had no way to get to work or take my two daughters to or from school but this firm took care of everything. I was able to get $18,000 in damages!! It was removed from my credit and I no longer owed anything. They handle everyting. Can't recommend them highly enough."
